• To turn on the device, long press the Home button

• To prepare for a recording, press the Record button. The REC light will blink.
• To record, press the Record button again.
• To stop recording and save, press the Home button.

• Long press the Home button to turn off the device.
• Remove the SD card by opening the flap and pressing the card in which will unlatch it.
• Take the card out and replace it with a fresh one. (There is a spare card in the storage area under the copier.)

Following are the settings that differ from the factory settings. If the unit is ever misbehaving it can be reset to factory using the Initialize feature listed below and then reset to the settings listed here. All settings are made after hitting the Menu button on the recorder

• Format MP3, 64k
• Sample 44.1k
• Type Stereo

• Auto Pwr Save 30min
• Backlight 10sec
• Battery Type NiMH (Batteries for the unit are AA rechargeable. The DR05 takes two. We have four and a charger. When the battery level shows one bar, replace with a new set and recharge the spent batteries.)
• File Name Word
• Initialize Use this to reset the device, only if needed.
